I saw online that the Mini 1 battery fits the Mini 2 and it has a higher capacity and is cheaper. However, at the store they recommended against using it. What's the story with using a Mini 1 battery on a Mini 2? Also, will the charge hub bundled with the Mini 2 fly more package charge the Mini 1 battery?
Mini 1 uses Li-Ion battery and is heavier. It would break the 250g limit for M2 that lets the drone avoid most restrictions. Can also affect flight performance.
Mini 2 uses Li-Po battery and is lighter. Li-Po has a higher discharge rate than Li-Ion, so it might potentially provide the M2 with more juice.
I wouldn't use a M1 battery in the M2 even if it "works".
I have used the Mini 1 battery in the Mini 2, Performance was about the same as far as I could tell. I am sure a study would show it as less powerful and/or long lasting.
It does NOT make it heavier than 250 grams because the Mini 2 is lighter at about 235 grams to begin with.
Hi, The Mavic Mini will not function with the battery of the DJI mini 2. Although the international version of DJI Mini 2 can use Mavic Min's battery, the power will decrease and the total weight will exceed 250g, requiring registration in some countries and regions. Please check local rules and regulations before use. Hope this helps. Thank you!
I fly with Mini 1 batteries all the time as Mini 2 batteries are much more of a hustle to deal with because they tend to discharge. Mini 2 hub also charges Mini 1 batteries. Flight time is almost the same. The only issue is the weight that exceeds 250 grams.
Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. Are you referring to the DJI Mini 2 Two-Way Charging Hub? Regretfully it is only compatible with DJI Mini 2 SE, DJI Mini 2, and DJI Mini SE. Have a nice day ahead.
