I have a Phantom 2 that I just changed to Naza mode. I also calibrated the RC. Everything works fine in GPS mode but when I switch to Course Lock and push the right lever forward the unit flies sideways. Just to be clear, the Phantom is on the ground facing in the direction desired; I switch the RC to Course Lock, and take off. When I push the right stick on the RC forward, the Phantom flies sideways to the right.
Any suggestions?

Course lock is made to do exactly that. It is for doing srteight line flying while videoing and being able to fly using forward and reverse sticks. Go to you tube and view the videos on course lock. It will simplify things for you. Just a good tool . You can set it for keeping the camera pointed in one direction while flying in that streight line.

With the Phantom facing the way you want, flick S2 (the left switch) up and down between top and middle position 5 times. That will reset CL to be the current front of the aircraft.

Sorry to disagree but moving the s2 switch is used to record the home point manually. Flipping the switch 5 times from position 1 to 3  will move the Phantoms home point  to the current location.
To change the course lock position you turn the craft to position the camera and flip to course lock position 2 and now the forward and reverse sticks will maintain flight or course the Phantom its flying regardless of the position of the craft. You can turn it left or right , spin it in a circle and it will stay on the course set in a streight line forward and backwards. Check out the you tube videos to see by example. Search Phantom course lock.Course lock can be set for any direction.

Sorry to disagree with your disagreement.  While in Naza-M mode flipping the S2 switch from Off (top) to CL (middle)  5 times quickly will reset the nose orientation to the current orientation the Phantom has,  flipping it from CL (middle) to HL (bottom) 5 times quickly will reset the Home position to the current position.  Flipping it from Off (top)  to bottom (HL)  5 times quickly is for Home position reset while in Phantom mode and should not be used as  Home position reset in Naza-M mode since you can not be sure if Home and/or Orientation had been recorded when the quickly flashing green rear LED acknowledgement occurs.

I'm willing to try the 5 click approach.
Called my dealer who said the Home Lock can only be enabled when the Phantom is 60 feet away. I tried that but the same thing happened. The Phantom is in the air, 60 feet away, I switched from GPS mode to CL and pushed the right stick forward. The Phantom moves sideways to the right. If I pull the stick to the left, it goes straight ahead. It's like the controls are rotated 90 degrees. By the way, I have the Phantom facing forward, away from me the whole time.

Homelock will only work outside of a 10 meter (30 feet) radius from the registered Home Point, inside the 10 meter radius it will go into Course Lock.
Direction in course lock will depend at which orientation the Phantom nose was when the orientation was saved/registered ( automatically approx. 30 seconds after power-up or when set manually via S2 thereafter).  It uses the magnetic compass data for that.
