Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out.

For drones already purchased, it is DJI’s hope to be able to provide software updates to its drones to make them compliant with Remote ID. However, DJI must await finalization of technical requirements within the industry before determining which specific products it can upgrade via software updates to perform Remote ID. We may also need to prioritize the technical work for products that are being newly released in 2022, and that are still most popularly in use in mid-2023, which may be different from products being used today.

Regardless, the FAA will permit an add-on modules to perform Remote ID in the event DJI is unable to upgrade some of its drone products. For new drone products, during the next year, DJI will work to enable its products meet applicable Remote ID requirements by the relevant deadline.

Hope this help.

So what you're saying is ... when I go to renew my FAA registration, the answer to this question ... "Does your drone broadcast FAA Remote ID information?*" ... is no.

And that applies to every current DJI product, right?  No matter how old or how new?

By the way, every DJI owner who finds him- or herself trying to renew their FAA registration must face this question.  You should make this answer easier to find.

the answer for every drone flyer is america today is NO.

it doesn't get any easier than that and nobody needs clarification or help finding and marking the no box.  either way, the answer doesn't affect your registration validation and for the vast majority of flyers who don't care, they just continue to do whatever they have been doing up until now for the next 2 years since there are no laws in place that require it of us.  you can fly today without remote id so it isn't necessary to bend over backwards to supply this information; no one should be eager to comply and there is no benefit to gaining compliance at this early stage.  when in doubt, skip it.

you will notice it asks for remote ID details which you don't have (nobody has) and for sure, nothing on the market (from DJI or anyone else) applies or even remotely satisfies the requirement.  please check back on this forum when the topic becomes "active" and then you'll see more details (and questions) around remote id and how to best utilize it.  for now, we all need to work to delay or cancel or at least change it (imo) instead of just signing up.
