Looks like it would throw the gimbal balance off. It looks front heavy in the video.

I stopped looking after the staged crash ...

They missed to market it for the obvious ... as a protection against getting sunlight on the lens (as a hod) but If you want to get the best possible light you probably not gonna do much flying mid day anyways ...
looks as if it 3D printed also ...

Nah ... not interested!

I see 2 problems with this that could damage the camera.
1. The air flow through the air intake is slightly obstructed and could cause the camera to overheat. It already runs hot.
2. The wight of the hood is making the servo motors working extra hard just to keep the camera from tilting down.

Let us know how long this last before over heating.

I agree, but i also want to add that this device doesn't cover the micro SD card slot, which quite a few people have reported that the card can often pop out in the event of an incident.
Nice idea, and a good first attempt.

get a fixed gear bird instead ...the whole advantage of a I1 is the retractable landing gear
