Apparently, there is a proper way to activate/initialize Mavic 3.
DJI, care to share? Like, update/charge craft via DA2 first, and only then proceed with RC update/activation..?
I know how to perform each step, but the correct sequence still eludes me..
With the replacement unit arriving today, I want to do this right...

Page 7 of the user manual has a step by step process to follow.
- remove storage case
- charge to 100%
- open wings
- connect phone to controller
- activate
- bind controller
- update firmware

that's essentially what I did the first time, not sure if there is a better way to do it like maybe updating the firmware with the DJI Assistant first. The manual was obviously composed pre-release, so feels outdated already...

I unpacked, charged the battery in the drone & RC Pro, RC Pro was ready first, powered it up, added it to my WiFi & activated it. It downloaded an update to the Fly App.

Once the drone was charged, powered up the aircraft, it linked to the remote and automatically activated, job done.

Cine’s arriving in the UK had the latest firmware loaded so no time wasted doing that.
I also inserted each of the remaining batteries one at a time into the hub to wake them up, once they were awake loaded them into the hub and left it to it.

I'm using a 100W PD charger in addition to the DJI one, which seems to bring the charge time down to around an hour, using the DJI one to charge the RC Pro only.

Hopefully your 2nd one will be trouble free! I was reading all the horror stories while mine was in transit, fortunately no issues other than an SSD that didn’t want to talk to my Mac, then it just started working and its been fine ever since.

My sequence has always been the same for years:
1. Charge up everything
2. Update everything via assistant 2 but I always do this twice just in case of bugs in download
3. Activate aircraft
4. Do an IMU calibration
5. Do a Gimbal calibration
6. Compass calibrate
7. Go Fly and enjoy.
