Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, I was tasked with documenting a boat parade in my community.  Every bit of content I created for this piece was with DJI products in some form.  From the Mavic 3 Cine for the Aerial Hyperlapse and Video.  Along with the DJI Ronin-SC2 Gimbal to stabilize my Nikon D780 on the ground.  I was really happy with the results so I decided to make it one of my entries into the SkyPixel 7th Anniversary Aerial Photo and Video Contest.  If you are part of the SkyPixel community and wouldn't mind throwing me a like? Thank you!  You're right, this is one of those rare areas where they decorate the front yard and the backyard.  Then most also decorate their boats, so it's a little more lit than most neighborhoods.  Other than that it really is a nightmare.  The best shots, in general, for Christmas lights are low and slow.  Obviously with a boat and VW parade you can do some really unique shots from altitude but I'm with you, It's risky, no collision avoidance, and it is hard to see branches, leaves, and wires.  But all of the good shots are usually shot within reach of everything that is difficult to see and deadly to a drone.  Either way, it's been good for me.  One of my biggest clients is a lighting company and they get real busy during the holidays and provide a ton of work.

Funny, I totally assumed he was talking about the energy put forward to record it.  Wasn't even thinking about the obvious one, power consumption haha.  The neighbors are always trying to outdo each other so they buy the latest and greatest almost every year.  Which is good for me.  My Dad lives there and every 4 or 5 years he replaces most of the lights, which still work well, and I just accept them second hand.    But yeah very minimal impact on the power bill.  Unlike my electric stove...  Or I'd even argue my DJI Mavic 3 battery charger consumes more power.
