After a lot of digging around trying to find a decent but cheap Android tablet I ended up taking a gamble on the Asus Zenpad 8 which I got cheap at £25, I had no idea if it would work but it does indeed work and quite well.

I also managed to get a Samsung S6 Tab Lite, this is a much larger tablet than the Zenpad but again works great.

Please no Apple Ipad comments, we all know they work.

I also have used the S6 Lite. The only drawback is that it is slow to start up. But once up and running, it works great.

I only use my phone for flying.
I find the hassle of moving the tablet around not enough rewarding since most of the time I only care about the general composition (that does not require to see all the details)

What model is this ASUS tablet? The S8 or the Z8 or the Z8s?

I'm using an LG GPad 5 10.1.  Android 9.  Paid a whopping $50 at a pawn shop.  The only issue is that it has the world's shiniest, most reflective screen.
I have to cover my head and the tablet with something otherwise I see myself instead of where I'm flying.

Its the Z8 Z380 from what I can see on the box.

I tested the compass with an app and it works fine, pity the samsung S6 Tab Lite is missing the feature

The bigger the screen the lower the resolution.  I have this issue when using the iPad but I need it for the Phantom 4.

As long as it’s clear enough to see what the quad sees I’m happy with a large screen

I have been using the Samsung Tab A7 10.4. Its not the ultimate spec wise, but it is upgradeable to aOS11 and does everything I need with a bigger display for clarity. No issues at all. Highly recommend it.

OK, I see the confusion. It is not a Zenpad Z8, it is an Zenpad 8.0. The Z8 does not have a Z380 part number. The 8.0 should work fine by the specs.
