What is Bluetooth on the smart controller used for?

I used mine just today to transfer videos to my phone.

Or if you use iPhone the bluetooth wont connect so an alternative is the app sendanywhere.

Hi All-
I have a Mavic air 2S coupled to the latest version of the smart controller. With both the smart controller and my iPad properly paired using Bluetooth, I have tried to send two photos via Bluetooth to my iPad.
I get  a sending 2 files message and then a files not sent message ?  I have drone SC and iPad all on and within 3 feet of each other in a ‘noise free’ area. I’ve tried several times and no success. I tried rebooting all three devices with no success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
