I tried recording in dlog for the first time today and the playback was jumpy . It is similar to when I initially tried recording in 5k and the playback would stutter on my computer . This was fixed by changing from h.264 to .h265. Do you think switching back will help my dlog video. (All recordings were done at 4K 60 for stutters dlog playback)

I think that's also due to the post production software.
What tool are you using...?
In Resolve you can also temporarily lower the resolution...

All I will say is that if your computer is not up to the task to playback the footage, do not film in a lower quality bitrate or codec so that you can simply play it and watch it. The footage will never change, but your PC will and you'll be able to use the better D-Log footage to your advantage for grading.  If you shoot for work, then this is especially important.

I'll assume you're running an Intel Mac. Sadly they just can't handle most footage, especially if it's 10bit 50fps.

If you're ever looking to upgrade, the M1 macs playback the footage beautifully. I'm running the OG M1 MacBook Pro and it played/edited 120FPS ProRes with ease - this machine still amazes me a year after buying it.
