For a long time, I wanted to show you guys what my usual hiking areas look like.



This is one of them, which I typically do on the weekends when my standard "midweek" Wildwood is too crowded.

Tremendous. I love hill walking. You have far more open space there than we do here in the UK.  A rugged beauty to that area you showed us. Great views into the distance.

Interesting place. Would love to fly there.

Thank you! Yeah, Europe and UK are way more built up, I noticed that. We're lucky to have these open spaces.

But that was the point: those hills give you an aerial view for free. Besides, they are typically higher than the official altitude limit (400ft), so, unless you want a different angle, you would not even be able to fly that high without breaking the rules ;)

That's what typically happens with sunset and clouds there. 15 minutes or less, that is all it takes from getting a big potential to a weak or total non-issue.

Did you get above? How wet was the drone when you got back?

I didn't stay long. The fog/cloud bank was only about 20m A.G. and damp. Visiblity was about 50m.
We went on to do the shopping, came back via the same route and, 5 minutes froim home the fog cleared and the sun came out. Typical!  
Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I was thinking more about flying fpv but I get your point.

That's how I usually feel after a near-miss

What a beautiful place for hiking Darth.    Don't need your drone with you on these tall hills to get an amazing view.

Exactly my point. You need to get extra hard to get an interesting angle, which cannot be achieved by simply walking up the next hill with a smartphone, or even a DSLR.

We’re blessed with some nice scenery. Granted, not as green as UK, except for a few weeks in winter, but beautiful anyway.
