I kind of quit because there is no sense to fly w/o a mission.  Flying around in circles all day gets super boring.  I rather play Planetside 2.

I use filming objectives as my mission. Like, "i want to see what it looks like over there" and "i want to film that mountain or hill" etc.

yeah, without purpose though it's boring.  Purpose more than just to see what it looks like and knowing or not makes Zero difference.

Wow planetside 2! I'd say old school but I helped  Beta test planet side one.. I mostly only get joy out of doing Chase videos I'd like to Chase some cars dirt bikes and maybe jet skis to keep it exciting.

Seriously, those guys will do ANYTHING to protect their operations..

I find that:

I buy a drone
Fly it a little
Stop Flying
Sell it
Get fed up that I got no Drone

etc... etc....

I felt the same way with my Mini 2, which is now collecting dust and waiting for me to sell it, however, since I picked up the FPV things have been a lot more fun because of Manual Mode. Normal and Sport Mode are just too dull now but with Manual Mode there's risk involved and that brings a lot of excitement. There's also such a high level of skill required you can just keep pushing yourself (until you crash, lol) and ride that line. After tasting Manual Mode I don't think I could ever enjoy normal drone flying.

Feel like with the lockdown I have more time to fly than before but I get what you mean if you stay at home and fly there. Gotta mix it up and get out to some nature!

It's all about filling time with some sort of satisfaction.  It takes a bunch of work to fly and while flying you have to concentrate on "not crashing".  It's not like in a video game like Planetside 2 where you can do w/e and it's ok.  This is why I prefer to only fly missions that "have to be done" but some are just way too risky to do and I try to educate other pilots on those risk and what they should be doing when they have to do it in which I have.

You're right,  my "quit flying" happens sometimes when thinking the risk or regulation and the cost
that not worth for a civilian air patrol or civilian air survey mission
Mostly i fly regularly to see if toll road jammed or not, also to see if the river will get flood after heavy rain.
Other than that just recreational and documentation....
