I've been talking back and forth with DJI about the RC Disconnect and I slid in a question about the firmware update and this is the response I got.

Yes. Hopefully they have done a good job with this next release. So many things to be fixed and improved on.

OriginalDobo said he was told new firmware early next week.

I'm not keen on being a DJI guinea pig, but this will be the exception.

Hopefully, he/she is spot on and the update happens.  

Given the reliability track of support, I would not bet my life on it.
It comes when it comes, and we can only hope it will resolve at least the biggest issues.

There is light at the end of a very long tunnel...

I hope it finally gets those missing photo modes which I used with m2p.

Continuous shooting. 5/7 frames etc
HDR
Panoramas
Auto focus Bracketing would be nice
Sphere

A few different color shooting modes like B&W, Velvia, Classic Chrome, Negative etc etc. they would be nice. Many where available on M1.

I think its possible to add many more bells and whistles to this Mavic 3, I know most probably wont use them but they offer a certain comfort having them there. I think DJI have over the years stopped introducing these options just to concentrate on other things. But lots of this stuff can be found in Cameras a lot cheaper than M3. And they can be good fun as well as being quite creative. I think better to have and rarely used than not to have and be looking for something new.

I also think things like Tripod Mode should be reinstated and probably the most loved and most used feature Course Lock also be reinstated.

I think DJI may have listened to the majority over the years and followed their needs by stripping away at features that were not used as much but were much more creative when used. Just my opinion

Sorry, I didn't realise they were missing from the M3 just now. I hope those who bought their M3s get those modes in the much awaited update.

Well update is here, some of these have featured but hopefully dji will continue to update and listen to users and new customers as to best develop M3. I think it will turn out to be a really good craft.
