There are cases where you are very surprised by the beauty of visiting relatively less well-known tourist attractions or natural scenery. It becomes a more precious place with the pleasure of finding your own hidden secret place. The feeling of Gangcheonsan Mountain, a famous mountain in Sunchang, feels like visiting a small Geumgangsan Mountain. It retains a scenic view comparable to that of famous mountains anywhere in the country. The hike along the calm trail feels like finding a hidden secret place.

The name of the mountain, which was built by State Preceptor Doseon of Silla, means a valley with the beauty of rolling jade according to feng shui. The two streams flowing down from the mountain are the roots of the Seomjingang River and the Yeongsangang River. The appearance of Byeongpung Falls at the entrance to the mountain shows the beauty of Gangcheonsan Mountain, which is unusual, and falls with a wide current as if hitting a folding screen on a strange rock cliff. There is a legend that the cool two-pronged water falling from a height of about 40 meters cleans up the mistakes of the person washing his body here. If you have prepared extra clothes, it is even better to leave your body in the stream on the way down the mountain and relieve the fatigue of hiking.

If you start at Yongso and hike about 1km to the top of Gangcheonsan Mountain, you will cross the suspension bridge across the valley. The suspension bridge, which lies 50m high as if cutting through the sky, unfolds a dizzying and beautiful view of the entire Gangcheonsan Mountain under the snow, making you forget the fear.

The observatory at the top, which appears at the end of a steep hiking trail, is a place where you can see the surrounding scenery where Sanseongsan Mountain and Gwangdeoksan Mountain. On the way back after passing through a reservoir that holds clear water like a lake deep in Gangcheonsan Mountain, you will meet a spectacular view of the nine generals who protected the land during the Samhan Period.
