When I record in h264 plays fine on my  laptop  which is 4 years old h.265 won't play. But on my Samsung s8 plays everything even panno 360 .is there any benefits difference between them. And how does it change the frame rates depending on where in the world you are. EU don't have 60fps in Australia we don't have all of these restrictions.

Most likely your computer is not powerful enough. I had the same problem a year ago with my MacBook Pro 2015. When I got a new MacBook Air with M1 the problem disappeard . I can't say what is required on a Windows based PC but I'm sure others can give you some guidance . Good luck.

You don't say which version of windows you are using, but the HEVC codec is not in win7 and is an add-on for windows 10 (ran into this a while back with my Western Digital surveilance cameras).  H-265 uses the HEVC codec for the video.

Vlc-player should have h265 codec

You can use handbrake to convert h265 to h264.   H265 only works well on the latest hardware.

The reason why it isn’t 60 is because the power is weaker in AU. That is also why It doesn’t go as far.

but is this retains more information for "editing" flexibility? H.264 and H.265 should look Identical until stretched on the colors, highlights, shadows, etc?

Hi thanks for the info but im not understanding what you mean by more power  .so if i bring my air 2s to England would it operate like it does in Australia as in distance.

When you say it will not play does that mean at all or studders a lot during playback? I have a higher end desktop that had no issues with 4k 265 at any frame rate, but the minute I jump to 5.4k it studders and can't handle the playback, at least in Davinic - it is fine in the typical windows media player.

Please install latest video codecs on your machine and H265 videos will play without any issues. Or just install VLC which will install videos along with it.
