My mini2 came with 1.4.4, but then I down graded it to 1.4.2 as it seems to be more stable and has less video disconnection issues comparing to versions up to 1.4.8.

But I haven't tried out 1.5.10 yet, and it seems to be quite stable so far though, so I am considering if i should upgrade to it.

I am not that much interested in the new features if there is a trade-off for the reliability and stability.  But are there any major bug fixes over the 1.4.2 that I should be aware of?  So far, I haven't encountered any major ones such as flying away or lost signal, etc. with 1.4.2

1.5 10 , Samsung GalexyTab S6 Lite, no compass on Tablet. Works just fine thou, but only flew 3 flites so far. Seems ok, hight is off when bring it back to home point, but just ignore that. Don't use the features with it, just fly around and take video, and do not use still shots with my flight, as lost video on tab with the othier versions  for a few secounds and afraid that might happen again.... chicken I am !!!!

1.5.10 (1070) - It is for me the best version yet. I have been stuck to 1.4.4 for a while, especially when the 1.4.8 first releases were very problematic, and then 1.5 versions having compass issues.
The newest version (1.5.10) at least of now seems stable!

Does 1.5.10 require a firmware update on the drone?  And if it does, there will be a need to downgrade the firmware in case I need to switch the app back to 1.4.2, and would that be easy to do?

1.5.10 with a Galaxy Tab A 8".   1.5.9 was very flaky on my setup in regard to control input response cutting out on a random axis in-flight if I were to use the advanced gimbal tuning features.   Really buggy.  Previous versions of the 1.4.4+ DjI Fly app suffered from a video signal loss on occasion as has been mentioned on this thread.   So Far, 1.5.10 seems to be stable, but honestly, if I have issues at all I will revert back to the gold standard 1.4.2 version and choose stability over features.  Time will tell.

I use the current version 1.5.10 on the LG G7 ThinQ, Samsung Tab S6 and iPhone 6S.
Also the Litchi APP on the LG G7. So far no problems!

1.5.10. The only issue I have is with the photos being automatically downloaded.

I don't use DJI fly anymore, flying only with Litchi(4.21.2-g) and for making a hyperlapse on the mini2 I use Rainbow pro(6.2).
But the version 1.4.4 was the best for me on huawei20 pro

The only Issue with the A7 lite is, it cannot play 4K videos.
It is from the screen perspective more comfortable than the S20, but not as havy and expensive as the 10 inch tablets.

I think that the firmware update is not mandatory, but I recommend doing so. The latest firmware update is stable, at least from my experience. You can roll back to previous versions of the app with the newest firmware I think, but I haven't tested.
I would update app and firmware, because it works fine (at least for now) and has the latest features. If you don't like something, then roll back the app.

The app can, on Android,  be rolled back to anything applicable for the drone by removing the old App and installing the desired version via an  APK. I HAVE NOT tried this going back from 1.5.x etc. as the data storage differs. But I have rolled everything up to and including 1.4.8  back to whatever I wanted.
I use 1.3, I think, with a Mini 2 and pre 1.2 versions with a Mavic mini. I have a 1.5 version on a phone used with an FPV and that works perfectly well with the Mavic Mini and Mini 2 on what ever firmware they were supplied with.

Sorry guys I'm not trying to change the subject but I'm a newbie and didn't want to start a whole new thread on a simple question or two. How are you guys connecting those huge tablets to the controller? Also, how do I know which version I'm using of the app? I got mine yesterday but I'm waiting for the wind to calm down for the maiden flight.

Search Amazon for "DJI Mini 2 Tablet Mount". There are quite a few. Also, you can search for "USB-C cable" for a longer cable.

When you open the app and you are on the screen with the picture, tap the 'Profile' button, then the 'Settings' option. Then, scroll to the bottom on the left side of the screen. It will say "DJI Fly v..."

I have 2 mobile devices to fly my mini2, and I just updated one of them to 1.5.10 per all the helpful info from you guys on here.  Haven't got a chance to fly it yet, but I am looking forward to the EXP settings being able to enhance my flying experience.  

Off topic question - if I save the EXP settings with my device running 1.5.10, then I go fly the drone with my the other device 1.4.4, would those EXP settings stay with the drone and take effective?  I believe someone has tried it and claimed that the settings would stay with the drone.  Anyone tried it??

To update my own question - I just did some testing and it worked.  So, I changed the EXP with one device on 1.5.10.  Now, I am able to fly it with my own phone on 1.4.4 with the updated EXP effects, pretty cool.

Hi, can you pleaase tell me what make connecting cable you use for the Galaxy Tab A7 as I have tried two to date neither worked. I have the 64GB Rom with 4GB Ram model which I am assured will worke with the DJI Fly & Litchi apps, thanks.

As i am using the "A7 Lite 8,7 inch", the cable that was coming with the DJI RC does fit perfectly.
I do not know which one works for the "A7 10 inch", but there are several longer ones offered on Amazon specificly for the DJI RC (Mini2, MA2,.....).

The new Fly App is NOT working with my current setup.
Will not connect and cannot locate log files in phone.
DJI mods please help. ..

I´ll bet it would work if you dial 1-2-11-223 before you connect the phone.
