Thanks for sharing Bashy.    I'm excited to see what all the Mini 3 brings to market.

With the cost of living in the UK turning to poop, i will be lucky to be able to buy any more drones from DJI now and forever, leccy bill has gone up 54% and set to increase much more in October that was pre war and heating oil has tripled since the war started and diesel has had a chicken fit

Mini 3 might not have a gimbal at all with digital stabilization (like an action camera). There are pros and cons to that:

Pros: More resistant to crashes, just like an action camera.
Cons: Stabilization might leave much to be desired especially in high winds. Overheating (remember Action 2).

I'd really advice to wait until launch and user reviews are out before making the commitment. Your mini 1 is still a very serviceable drone.

True, Cost of living is getting really bad, even here in NZ its terrible. With the rising costs and how expensive droning is becoming with Dji, I also might stop running out and getting the next best thing on the market.

With the Mavic 3 fiasco I will never buy a new Dji drone on launch and if I decide to spend money on another drone I will wait at least 6 months before getting it. Lesson learned and burned

Good observations, thanks.  I'm always wary of rushing in, prefering to wait until the teething troubles have been thrashed out (or not!) by the early birds.
And yes, my Mini 1 is still giving good service -even in challenging conditions,

I feel like the digital stabilization will give that shaky video during night just like all action cams at night.

I am also waiting for the MINI 3.  Coming from the Mavic Air.   I really hope that they will have great active tracking compared to skydio drones.

I'm content with my Mini One and Mavic 2 Zoom for the time being.
But a little forward planning does no harm
