DJI do stupid stuff, they eventually start losing customers. If it's the only way for them to understand what they are doing wrong, so be it.

Thanks for sharing DA.  Nice corporate spin, but I wouldn't have expected anything less.

I guess it depends on what side you beleive.

I wonder how plausible that explanation is. China has close ties with Russia and during the Beijing Olympics, China declared unwavering friendship with Russia's Putrid. Given that the CCP can order any company, owned and operating out of China to do anything it wants I find this explanation a hard pill to swallow.

We see that repeated in the forums occasionally, but is it actually true or just a myth that gets accepted because it's repeated so often?

Really is a shame that almost everything these days can be 'weaponised'.

I am in security and cameras out of China is widely used throughout the world namely Hikvision and Dahua. These cameras have been banned in most 5 eye countries because they have been used/ordered to be used by CCP to facially identify the Uraguys(hope that's spelt right) in China and put them in concentration camps. At first it was highly debatable until proof hit the major Security companies and we stopped buying it completely.

That's not the same thing.
DJI has also been subject to similar complaints.
But making a camera (or drone) that's later used by a government agency isn't what I asked about.
