Well a 10" display would give you a lot bigger view than on the SC or RC Pro.

Lighter weight would be nice.  I'm sure a lot of the controller weight is the battery.

The smart controller had 4 18650 cells inside,  so thats probably almost 50% of the. weight.

Wow, I didn't know it had 4 batteries inside.  That would account for the weight difference between a normal RC and the SC.

I guess it needs it for the screen,  before I bought mine it was one of the the things I looked into to see how they could be changed.

Agree 100%.  I remember how the early cellphones had user replaceable batteries and then the OEMs slowly converted over to making it very hard to replace them.  I normally don't keep a mobile device more than a year anyway so I've yet to have to replace a battery in one.  I did have to replace a battery in an ASUS tablet years back and it wasn't too difficult.

an internal battery allows the phone to be slimmer, lighter, and more likely to be water resistant (without a removable door).  with battery life improving so much, the user hardly needs to swap a battery during the day.  no removable battery also means one less sku to sell for the merchants but it also eliminates the opportunity to develop an extended battery.

No solid reason was given as to why there will be a delay.One reason was the current
lock downs going on in China.But who knows this could all change again.

Thanks NewToy,  Id heard that date mentioned,  but at this late stage I would have expected stock to already to be in the main countries and big retailers.    The lockdowns would certainly explain a delay though.

I just wish they put larger batteries in the phones,   by the end of the year my iPhone battery is toast and Im in for the latest model,   mind you my screen time is usually 6-7 hours a day and I use over 200gb of mobile data (excluding wifi)

Good info.  I'm sure being more water resistant was one of the  more important drivers in going permanent batteries.

I'm not sure why I didn't by the original SC a couple of years back.  Much handier and quicker to get airborne and doesn't tie up your mobile device.  Also, much easier to see for me.  Although the display size on the RC Pro is not any bigger than my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Me too,  I was just extremely skeptical at first.   But once the Mini2 was supported it made some sense to get away from the basic controller it came with.

I'm just hoping the RC Pro Controller I got with the Air 2S bundle will eventually be compatible with the Mini 3 Pro.  I'm guessing it will not be initially but hopefully with a firmware update later it will.

I really hope they tell us at least the plan when then launch it,  it may effect my purchasing decision. Especially as theres not a leak that suggests there will be a controller less version for sale.

I'll definitely be scrutinizing the launch day details.  I would like to buy it without a controller if available.  

May 10th most likely…

It would be amazing if they do a controller free version and they update the smart controller.    Oh boy what a dream come true that would be for me.
