Just gonna drop this here, lets hope it goes ahead... do the survey please...
https://consultations.caa.co.uk/ ... sitional-provision/

UPDATE as of 1st June 2022

Due to the huge number of responses the collation of all responses and decision making has taken a little longer than expected.

Once the CAA and DfT are in agreement there should be an update provided.

I am hoping this will be in the next week or two.

Fortunately it doesn't effect me as I live in the US but I highly applaud your effort in spreading the word for UK flyers to get this extension.

My only question is:  As non "C" marked drones are safe to fly now, why would they become more dangerous to fly in the future?

Probably because they anticipate the response and don't want it.

They are no more dangerous, the idea of C rated means that the manufacturers make sure they are as safe as can be by limiting top, making sure there's a slow mode, making sure they do not exceed X take off mass etc, i also think that software has to play a part in it too i.e. not-hackable, flysafe etc.

Legacy drones should be allowed to adopt C ratings, why that's not allowed i do not know, the Phantom and mavics have a tripod/cine mode (slow mode) so where the issue?

I think the transition period reset should start once the first classified drone hits the market,  then they should allow 24 months to migrate.    Theres no point having a transition period when theres nothing to transition too.

Would it though, you can use a proxy if it's not accessible, also, what's to say you won't be coming over with your "Legacy" drone and wanting to fly... ...there are no personal locale questions, just 3 or 5 regards to the subject, very straight forward.

I'm not sure. The form only requests a name and email address.
Not place of residence.
But maybe it's filtered by IP address. I wouldn't know.

Okay, after your reply to me I submitted using a proxy.

I did incorporate a version of DAFlys "24months after the classifications are released to the public".

Again, I really hope you get a nice, long extension.

as dji deceives and scams users, it is incomprehensible that things like this happen, at 1.7 meters and the technical service says 10 cm and the insurance does not cover it, they are liars
