Hi All,

Has anyone noticed an odd "Mechanical" sound during the Mini 3 Pro start up?
To me, it sounds like a grinding noise. I particularly noticed it when I tried to pair the Mini 3 Pro to the RC-N1 controller.

I'll try and post a sound clip soon.

Thanks!

I haven't received my order from DJI yet but I wanted to ask if the sound appears to be coming from one of the motors or internally in the electronics bay.

Good question! It’s during the start up “jolt”. I’ve never had a Mini before, it could be the rotors clashing?

I'd probably just keep an eye (and an ear) on it for a while but not be too worried as it didn't sound like a motor bearing or anything catastrophic.

Could be just simple as the noise caused as the blades engage and spin up.

Please have a look at this video and tell me if normal to hear these noises?
Is it the props?

It is normal, nothing to worry about.

It's the initialization of the ESC's (motor controler) which cause the motors to make that noise.
Happy flying.

Thank you, everyone!
I was worried there for a minute! When I the box home I could hear a rattle and then found one of the desiccant bags was broken.

I hope so for the Mini series. This is what I have experienced with the Mavic Air 2s and Mavic Pro.

The Mavic Mini, Mini 2, M2P/Z and Phantom 3 P/A all do a much more substantial dance than that, I have no experience of the Air 2s more the MP but the following is similar to what I see from the M2P/Z.
I don't know if perhaps your video does not show the dance to its full extent or if its is at my end but your Mini 3 gimbal appears to barely twitch.

Hi,

The gimbal dance for the Air 2s is normal.
I think its a way for it to rebalance and check there’s not obstructions. The Mini 3 Pro gimbal has a different construction.

RUFKM? it’s NOT the blades or the motors starting up.
