anyone knows why dji rc screen recording saves to 720x480p filewhile screen capture saves in 1920x1080p


is there any way to change screen recording quality to 1080 or at least 720?

anyone? is the dji rc pro also recording in 480?

Could be a glitch or not enough processing power to up the resolution

DJI RC PRO is recording 1080 so i hope it's not a hardware limitation but a software glitch.

I am reviewing all of my flights and watching them in 480 is a real pain.

I can understand a concern that 1080 recordings will take more space on sdcard or internal but after all it should be end user decision how is he recording his flight so i would like to see a setting for this function allowing to change saved file quality.

Its just not good enough DJI ! The Mini 2 cache recording is 720p, is this delibrate, 480p is not acceptable for the cache recording.

It's not cache recording - it's an AOSP Android screen recorder function. And even AOSP source files are defaulted to 720 so downgrade to 480 is deliberate change of AOSP source.

Looks like the recording resolution is unable to be upgraded in future firmware:

It does seem odd that a selling feature of the drone is the ability to rotate the camera vertically, appealing to youtube and other social media platform uploaders. Whereas this seems a bit of a kick in the teeth to this same demographic.

moreover it would be a regression in functionality from other dji rcu's
now i'm waiting for dji support response even more

I'm talking about the cache recording to my phone, not screen recording.

The Mavic 2 pro cached the video to phone at 1080p, whilst I recorded 4k on the drone.

The Mini 2 was only 720p cached to phone.

The Mini 3 discussions say its only 480p using the RC.

If using a standard controller with phone would it 1080p or 480p ?

ah yes, recording are indeed cached in 480p but also the screen recording is saved in 480 - so live feed is displayed on screen in 1080p but it's saved in 480p ;) seems like system wide 'issue' might be rough optimizations to deliver something for product launch deadline or some hardware limitations idk - i'm talking about dji rc tho

Its a deal breaker for me, I am hoping someone tests with std remote & a phone. I like having a1080p & a 4k recording to edit.

Shortage of supply in uk, so still have n't decided which RC to choose. I've been using a 11" galaxy tab S8 on the Mini 2 and come to really like so much screen size.

RCN1 with phone recording is depending on your phone resolution.  But RC controller only 480p is UNACCEPTABLE anyway.

What’s the point for screen recording if it is only 480p for RC?

You still have 4K files on the SD card in the aircraft.

i know that i can record ON DRONE in higher resolutions, i just want to have the SCREEN recorded in 1080, it's already streamed to the DJI RC in 1080 so why the screen recording is limited is beyond my comprehension

i think with regular rc that requires you to add own mobile device to control with dji app screen recording is limited by that mobile device settings - and that's native screen resolution

I use Topaz Video AI to upscale from 480p to 1080p. It makes a massive difference to the quality! There are likely other programs that will do the same thing.
