He didn’t say.   But 1.6.1 is the app version not drone firmware.  

On de rc rm330 is version 1.6.1(1035-dpad)
on android phone 1.6.1(1025-official)

As I say,  thats the app version,  with the drone turned on you can go to About and check the version and check for update,  the current version is 01.00.0100

This new version isnt showing up for me so I suspect he has an early access.

Or was Philip Bloom right and 12bit is coming.

Probably a hotfix to remove the 10 bit video.

No. He kept making jokes about it in his 10 bit review.  It was interesting also because he showed the conversations he was having with the DJI engineers.

We just need to learn to have more patience.

Mine updated, think it was a battery firmware update for one of my batteries from my fly more kit.

The thing is with that indicator, its actually a vital part to its usage, although, many don't even use it lol Its is certainly important if the range is a part of the mission. I feel that had many of the range testers actually used that they would have faired better. I have just taken my Mini 2 around the village, i got up to about 988m then lost video, that was at 65m high, without a doubt the controller lost LOS with the drone that is acceptable and i did it in CE mode, i made a point of flying directly over the housing estate. From what i have seen so far, the MM3P couldn't do that, but again, that's open for debate as it wasn't flown here...

Ive flown further in that sort of area with the Mini3 but I was much higher,  120m.  And a wet tree was enough to shortage that range in one particular direction.    When Gavin tested Mini2 vs Mini3 in urban area at 50m they were about the same for range IIRC.

With the DJI RC, the app is updated with the aircraft (well, technically the controller) firmware.  So with this particular combination, the app is controlled by the f/w

On the photo he posted here in this topic, it clearly reads that it was a battery firmware update. But he probably expected something else too

I’ve already had separate updates one for the controller and one for the drone.  

Hendric loves a bit of click bait to drive clicks to his channel he also says if you don’t like it click the dislike button twice which if course cancels the first click
