Hi folks, I have the Note 20 ultra that I am using but I don't want to keep using it for the drone, so I am liking for something g else just for that purpose, what are you using fron the Samsung range only, yeah, I'm a fan boy :p it needs to be bright and around the same size, I think a note 4 would be the smallest in screen size for me though, but not sure if it would be bright enough?

I use 4 different Samsung devices to fly my drones. All of them are older models. Android 12 kills DJIGo4.  The 8" tablet Galaxy Tab S2 still works well for all DJI Apps and Litchi.  I have a Galaxy S7 which I use solely to fly the Mini One.  I've also got a Galaxy S9 smartphone on Android 10 which will fly either drone (Mini One or Mavic2Zoom). And an A51 which was OK until it updated to Android 12 and now DJI Go4 will not even load.   All have the issue of screen visibility in bright sunshine. I have experimented with sunshields, but prefer to find a shady spot from which to fly.

Thanks, whats the S9 like in size compared to the S7, i have an S7, I didn't know Android 12 killed off DJI Go 4, but then i normally use my S2 9.7 for the Phanotm 4 Pro

I use a S10+, or a Tab S8. My old Tab S2 9.7 still works well with Fly app.

I bought a mm3p with standard controller, gives me much more choice now and in the future.

The Tab S8 screen recorder records at 1080p, but the cache to phone is 720p, much better than 480p on the RC controller.

I have used a Samsung Note 8, Samsung S21 Ultra and a Samsung Tab S6 when flying the Mavic Air 2. I really like the nice display size of the Tab S6.   However, for flying the Air 2S I use the DJI RC Pro. Too bad the RC Pro is not compatible with the Mavic Air 2 or I'd be able to have only one controller to carry for both drones.  

Not sure if Swappa.com ships overseas but there are some really good deals on used mobile devices there.  Best of luck in deciding which mobile device to get.

Whats the A51 like with DJI Fly? have you thought about reverting them back to Android 11, its quite straightforward to do

I spent 4 hours (no way it normally takes that long) doing my Nvidia shield K1 last Sunday, i put on Android 10  and started to install DJI Fly and it got right near the end and dropped a ball on me, bloody waste of time that was lol, it was worth a try though, i got much further than it do on the old Android 5 is it? lol Suffice to say i backed up the room and was able to restore it back to exactly how it was, i can still used DJI Go if i wanted to, i don't mind lol

Yeah, thanks, i have the Tab S2 9.7, it's a damn good work horse for an old tablet.
I have looked at the S10+ ut its a jump in price once they add that plus on the end, not sure i can justify that when the 9 is probably just as good as only a screen for the drone. Still, I'm not ruling anything out as I wouldnt say no to a back glass smash as long as the front is good. My main concern is the screen brightness.

I haven't used the A51 much, to be honest.  I consider it my backup device, as it's the one that has my mobile phone SIM in it. Now that Android 12 installed itself - killing DJI GO4 in the process - I'm loath to turn the clock back to v11.  Apparently it's fraught with difficulties and I don't want to risk it.
The S9 also has a SIM card, as it's my wife's phone. Tha latest update for that is Android10 - with no future updates planned for what is considered an obsolete model.  It runs all my Fly Apps perfectly.
The S7 has no SIM and I use it just to fly the Mini One. It fits nicely nto the carry case on top of the battery charger, with a little packing.  The S9 and the A51 are too big to fit.  And the Tab2 is still working great with the Mavic2Zoom.  It replaced my old Nexus7 when I got the Phantom4, so it has given great service.

I don't think the rules are so rigid as that

I have a Samsung A12 It has a 6.5" screen and runs Android 11, works fine with the app.

Samsung S20 Ultra 5G. Had no issues with it. DJI-v1.5.10-1070-official, Android 12 and latest mini firmware 1.04.

Thanks, i have the Note 20 ultra that works great, but i am looking for a cheap option so i don't keep using the decent phone.

Started with an S9+ and now have an S22 Ultra. No issues for me yet (though I have minimal flying hours)

What list android phones work DJI flight simulator

So far, I haven't found any Samsung phone that doesn't work with DJI Fly... (6S 7S 8S A52-A53-A54) and few others...

I also tested Samsung tablet (A range 8 -10) Not really sure about the number, and again no problem whatsoever... I think you will find that people who do complain about compatibilities are normally the one that can't get past the installation because of the 3rd party software like DJI Fly...

Refresh rate is not that great on the A tablet.... Perhaps with the more expensive tablet, you get a more powerful GPU...
