Anyone here from DJI that can address the range issue that half the people are having? Can this be fixed in firmware or is it a hardware issue? Can’t get past 4000ft with mine before it loses connectivity.

The forum staff will ask for more info, such as area you're flying, is it the same in a different area etc?

Same area in Tennessee that I got 3 times the distance with my old mini 2

Hello there MrJayd. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. May we please know what is the the version of the DJI Fly application that you are using please for us to be able to isolate the issue? Kindly please fly your DJI Mini 3 Pro to a different location with less interference to see if the issue will still persist? The DJI drone might have picked up magnetic interference on the ground, and you took off from close to a buildings with rebar concrete metal objects on it. In addition, please make sure that the antennas are pointed toward the aircraft for optimal transmission. Thank you.

Is your indicator green to show that you are correctly aligning the remote with the drone,  the new remote is very sensitive to alignment.

And just flying above trees or water in the other direction. No building or magnetic interference around. But like I said my old mini 2 used the get 3 times the distance flying the same areas.

4000', wow! What power binoculars are you using to see the UAV at that distance?

You won’t get any relative answers from dji. So either ship back or wait to see if FW fixes your problem.

Unless you have a SOP you cannot use spotters. But at 1000m I don’t think you are causing to many problems with a Mini drone.

To answer the OP I don't know. There are many of us seeing surprisingly poor range with the Mini 3 compared to older drones. I'm hopeful DJI can get to the bottom of it. At the moment attempts to gather info about it is interrupted by the drone police.

I would LOVE to get 4000' my drone cuts out around 2500' on a good day. This is over a rural lake with no obstructions.

Always green?   Normal if you point a few degrees of it will turn blue.
