I’d need to be very tall to have captured that location with a mobile phone. ;-)

... not exactly in the same place of course.
But you can do a great timelapse from an elevated point with a smartphone. No movement dynamics, just stay in one place...
On the short video you can see nothing "special", just a few passing vehicles, the lights, nothing else.

Hyperlapse, on the other hand, carried out with a drone, is something completely different, something special...

To be fair, he did just say timelapse, you say you could it with a smartphone, i doubt it would be anywhere near this quality and at night to boot, I have the Note 20 Ultra 5g and no way could i get this, perhaps if i used night mode set the timer to 2 or 5 seconds for each image, it would be painstaking mind as i would have to use a tripod and manually engage every image or set the hyperlapse to grid speed 45s,  but like i said, no way would it be in this quality though, its bad enough during the daytime.
