I'm experimenting with image quality from my Mini 3Pro when shooting Panoramas.

There are three files here:

The first is the basic direct from drone panorama in jpg. Note the garden chair in the centre. Ignore the picture quality of this one.

The second is the same image direct from the drone zoomed right in. Note the image quality of the chair.

The third I did the hard way. I took the 9 RAW files from the drone and imported into Lightroom. I then stitched the panorama together in Lightroom and did some image sharpening. The third is the resultant zoomed in detail of the panorama.

The image quality direct from the drone can be improved hugely once you get the RAW files and are prepared to do a bit of editing. the level of detail is impressive.
I'm impressed with the RAW.

The difference between the two images of the chair is amazing.

That's a huge difference between the two.  Amazing what a little magic in editing can do.

Interesting but most Panos would be taken high and for me the time to do it manually is not worth the improvement. Bit you have made a very big improvement

Quite remarkable how much better the raw version was.

Yes it is, its the drone prodused JPG of the Pano. The image used in shot 2.

Will it not do an auto pano using jpg+raw then?

Wait...so this is the SAME pano but basically JPEG vs. RAW?

...so the JPEG version as it comes off the drone is basically not very good quality/highly compressed?

To better understand the quality I'd like to see a single shot JPEG, vs. RAW saved as lossless JPEG (no editing) to see what the difference is.

Does the pano function cause additional artifacting/loss of quality on top of anything else?

I never use the onboard pano option. Always stitch myself.
