Hello, I have a question regarding DIY replacement of the main board.   I ordered one from ebay (good seller rating).   After installation, I fired it up.  The gimbal acted erratically but, I continued on to activate thinking maybe I just need to calibrate the gimbal.   When trying to activate, it comes back with a 1112 error code and says DJI cannot activate.   I researched the 1112 code and that comes back as possibly a lost or stolen drone.   Luckily the ebay seller said I can return it but, will I always have this issue installing a new main board or did I just get unlucky with this time?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

PS.  I purchased the drone from a friend over a year ago.  Flying great until recently and the gimbal became unresponsive upon start up and the fan motor was very very loud.   This is why I presumed it was the main board.

Hello there NateAIR2. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. Since we are having this issue with your DJI Mavic Air 2. I would recommend for your to contact our DJI Support Team at https://www.dji.com/support?site=brandsite&from=nav for further assistance. We will do our best to help you and give out the best resolution for the said issue. Just a friendly reminder that  DJI do not recommend doing a DIY in fixing the said DJI drone to avoid further damaging the said unit. Again, I am sorry and thank you.

You will need to pair the gimbal with the main board some how.

I don't know for sure but I doubt DJI will let you install a part like the main board. I may be wrong though.

it may help but not guaranteed.
From memory one of the webpages mentioned includes a list of the model codes required in the python scripts.

Thank you.   I ordered another board and am returning the board that gave the 1112 error code and wouldn’t let me activate.  I messaged the seller and explained my previous encounter and he assured me I shouldn’t have any issues.  We will see.  If it’s just a bogus gimbal error message, I can handle that.  Just want to get her up in the air again.    Thanks again for the reply and the link

To be honest buy and swap testing can work out to be expensive, if the second board does not solve the problem I would be inclined to send the drone in for repair.

Just a point, if your ebay has the same T&C as here in the UK and if your first seller sold the board in the "USED " condition category then the item must work.

If it doesn't then a "not as described" return can be initiated whereby the item can be returned, at the seller's expense, and, on reciept by the seller, a full refund issued to the buyer INCLUDING the original P&P charge.
Here the seller can send a prepaid postage label.
With regards to a board to which soldered connections must be made, that is probably a bit generous as the buyer could be a hamfisted numpty and damage the board but ........
For this reason most sellers here sell such parts in the "FOR PARTS" category where the "must work "condition is not applicable.

Got the new board in.  Works like a charm except it doesn’t recognize the gimbal.  So now what?  Lol

Here is where the gimbal ends up.  I’ll post more tomorrow.  Late here now.  But at least I was able to activate it with the new board this time.  It’s all about syncing the gimbal now

Test flight tomorrow to ensure all is well but the gimbal is now truly calibrated.  Had to use python software, DJI service tool download and do all with the air2 hooked to computer with command prompts but gimbal looks great now.  (First pic yesterday after control board replacement, 2nd some of the command prompts, 3rd is the gimbal stabilized) DJI makes AMAZING products but they are definitely not DIY and aftermarket friendly

Did you get use a walkthrough you found somewhere? Or you could you possibly provide some sort of walkthrough on how to go about this calibration? That would be very helpful!
