Long story short for European non-German speaking members:
1. You need a liability insurance especially for drones.
2. You need a A1/A3 pilot certification and you need to register as a pilot. Registered pilots receive a so called eID, that needs to be placed on every drone, the pilot has.
3. When using Goggles, you need a so called spotter, someone who stands beside the pilot and watches the drone to avoid accidents. If no spotter is available, you are only allowed to fly in VLOS (visual line of sight) without Goggles.
4. Because it was released before 1st January 2023 the interims EU drone regulations apply until end of 2023. From 2024 on the final EU regulations apply.
Point 4 results in the ability to fly the Avata in A1 until end of 2023. From 2024 on it‘s only allowed to fly in A3.
If you don‘t understand, what A1 and A3 is … you‘ll learn that during your pilot certification. You will learn, where you are allowed to fly under which circumstances with which kind of drone, that the maximum allowed height is 120m and lot more. But don't worry, the test is not that hard and demo tests are available for free.
In Germany the registration costs 20€ and the A1/A3 pilot certification 25€.
Btw, flying without registration and/or certification is illegal and can cost the pilot up to 50.000€ penalty. |
