Hello there Han. Good day and thank you for giving out these information and for posting this video as well. You may also try checking the DJI Mini 3 Pro ND Filters Set ( https://store.dji.com/no/product ... -filters-set-16-256 ) found on our DJI Online store. These ND Filters can adapt to strong lighting conditions with ND16/64/256 filters and always be ready for the perfect shot and meets needs in scenarios of shooting long exposure or against strong light. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this informative video Hannibal.

From personal experience I've found that no ND/PL, CPL, or VND filter with 2 optical glasses work for Panorama/360shots.  When I contacted Freewell they confirmed it wasn't a filter problem but it was because of filter science.  They sent me this link to read up on it.

The current set is a variety of ND's but all with polarization.
Allthough I prefer polarisation, sometimes strickt ND may come in handy

I have never cared for polarizers.  For general flying they make the sky all wonky & uneven as you rotate the drone.  I have the Freewell VND set & they do the same thing.  I recommend straight NDs.  I bough the 4-pack with ND-128, 256, 512, & 2000, then bought the ND-32, 64, & 1000.  For the Mini 3 I can't see using anything below ND-32 very often.  For bright day it's usually the ND-64 or 128.

Hmmmm I use pol's on all my camera's and lenses. Never saw anything wonky (perhaps we have a different understanding on wonky ... I'm not native english).

I love what it does to colors and reflections.

It does cost you some light... especially for low light situations I take them off

You're welcome Hannibal.

Could be your experience will be totally different than mine.  Don't get me wrong I love and use Freewell filters as much as possible but just no longer for panos.

Never tried pano's and stuff with pol yet.
Just got the filter set.

But of course in the tryouts planned for this afternoon, I will try them out.
Perhaps it is the stitching that's screwed up for some reason (yeah ... I need to read the article )

But thanks!

Hi,

I read the article and I must say I can relate to what is said there.
One small remark, using gradient ND’s is not my thing at all.
They limit your options directly and for panoramic photos, they are only usable when the pano is fully horizontal. A number of pano’s on the bird are also vertically and such a filter would of course ruin the end-result. An open door (I hope).

But back to pol’s, I am not sure how the author created his footage of course, but under the conditions I had this afternoon there really was NO issue at all. The “3” processes spheres with no issues at all and panoramic’s gave realistic results.

I don’t know how to post sphere’s but here is a panorama that was completely as it was IRL.
Perhaps it is also the type of pol?

If you properly align a polarizer & stay pointed in one direction polarizers are fine.  For general flying, where you are rotating about, polarizers make the sky uneven with distinct vertical bands of bright/dark as the drone points in different directions.

From the article shared you get that same impression.

Tested a sphere today, several, and no issues at all. No bands, no wonky stuff

In the photo of the Freewell gradients you'll notice a marker for "H".  There is another for "V".  The lenses rotate so you can use them in portrait or landscape mode.

Works the same as the pol's then.
good to know!

A warning about 3rd party filters. With the introduction of firmware .0450, at startup, the drone will do a weight check of the camera on the gimbal. Many Mini 3 owners are reporting that these filters are making the drone think there is a wide angle lens on the camera. This will disable ALL pano modes. It appears that any camera attachment around 2 grams and up will cause this.

If true, it sounds like a bug to me.

It has been out for about a week. It's not a bug. It is intended to detect the wide angle lens and their method to do that is based on the weight of the attachment to the front of the camera.

Well... You are actually right, hifi shops are getting seriously rare.
Internet but also the change in the market makes it very difficult for hifi shops.

This shop was closed around 10 years ago, the owner retired, but was specifically asked by the distributer to reopen. He is now in the second half of his 70's!

I bought my first serious set there and since he maintains the same prices as you find everywhere, I like to buy stuff there. I recently replaced my loudspeakers from that first set (the one constant I had in my set) and the new one's I also bought at his shop.

Nice guy, very knowledgeable and no nonsense (not very common anymore in that world).
A bit of a usermanual, he has, but don't we all?
