I did that once with my Mavic Air, on a hike in the bavarian alps. I wanted to have a nice "reveal" effect and started below the fog tier (which was just about 50m height). The fog made the sensors going crazy and the drone was drifting in an undefined (and not controllable) way because APAS was active. In the end, the drone started the landing procedure while being at 40m altitude - and landed on top of a spruce, altitude 35m above ground. Last information was: Rotors are blocked... I did some rescue attempts, but the "bird" is still up there, in the forest, for more than one year. I was hoping that it would fall down in a storm or during winter time, but no... My conclusion: Never fly in fog again.
Agreed, just a test, next time better without fog. |
