So I will update the firmware to the latest where C1 classification requirements are met in the firmware but I recall DJI stating that a process of proving by photo that the firmware for a given drone and its corresponding serial number, this photo sent to DJI and then classification would be granted for said drone. Will this still apply and what do we receive in return for providing this proof to DJI, a sticker to incorporate on the drone perhaps? Given that I have installed the latest firmware am I now able to fly in A1 without going through this stated (by DJI) process?

Yes, this still applies. Once you have updated the M3 to the F/W V01.00.0900 the drone complies with the necessary regulations and is C1 compliant. What you then need is a new sticker for the drone with the C1 logo. DJI - as they say and hopefully soon will do - will send you the sticker after you prove them that your drone (S/N) meets the necessary requirements (F/W). A screenshot from the Info screen will do. The question is, WHEN will DJI start the process.

Thank you SeehawerB, would a representative of DJI care to comment on this?

You sure about that? I would think they'd make it possible to update the drone for new functionalities without applying C1 class limitations? I'm sure many would like to use the M3 outside of the C1 class. It seemed to me that the C1 class firmware would be a separate choice, and from that there's no way back.

Hi, Adiemask. Thank you for your inquiry. SeehawerB is correct. Even after the addition of  EU C1 certification in the recent firmware update, you will still need to apply to obtain the new C1 class identification label for the Mavic 3 series. The application process will be launched later this year. More details will be announced at the time.  Please reach us here at DJI Forum if you have further inquiries. Thank you for your valued support.

I can't really make sense of this...You wrote in another thread, regarding someone mentioning he couldn't find the option for manually turning the auxiliary light on/off (+ front leds when recording):

________Hi, hallmark007. Thank you for notifying us about this matter. Our engineers have confirmed that the newly released firmware did not remove this feature. We highly suggest that you do a "Firmware Refresh" on the RC Pro. If the same issue persists, please share with us the remote controller log for our related team to investigate on. We will be waiting for your feedback. Thank you for your cooperation.
________

If the firmware is indeed C1 ready, these features should be removed.

Hello all excisting DJI MAVIC 3 / MAVIC 3 V2.0 drone owners and remote pilots,
I just been reading the User Manual v.1.8 2022.11 for the DJI Mavic 3,  and i noticed that DJI made statements about  the C1- certification C1- classification C1- marking.

For example DJI is wrote/mentioned in their User Manual v.1.8. 2022.11,  that there will be or their already is , "another version or second version"  of the DJI mavic 3 within the DJI Mavic 3 series.

Please read/look the first sentence/ line of the user manual:
DJI MAVIC 3 / MAVIC 3 V2.0
User Manual (v1.8) 2022.11

So the DJ MAVIC 3 is not C1- Certified but on the otherhand the MAVIC 3 V2.0 is Certified.
The V2.0 ( second version) of dji for the mavic 3 , how will it be stated overall in dji's documents?
Are we speaking  a DJI MAVIC 3 V2.0 or are MAVIC 3 V2.0 or a Mavic 3 V2.0 it all matters if i am right?

This implicates that DJI formally and technally is occupied with solving the issues about the C1- certification C1- classification C1- marking for the excisting DJI MAVIC 3. with all Firmware updates and software updates to controller and the mavic 3 drone will raise the New refurbished drone the MAVIC 3 V2.0 and we all will get our C1 label/ marking for our excisting drone.

Now i understand why the DJI MAVIC 3 can NOT be C1 certified, but the MAVIC 3 V2.0 can be C1 certified
only 1 thing is resting.  is:
DJI MAVIC 3 = MAVIC 3 V2.0
DJI MAVIC 3 V1.0 ( the original DJI  MAVIC 3) = MAVIC 3 V2.0

DJI MAVIC 3 / MAVIC 3 V2.0  User Manual (v1.8) 2022.11 Manual (v1.8) 2022.11 The DJI Mavic 3 V2.0

More news.... now we will have Mavic 3 V2.0, but what will it be, another version of Mavic3 with new features or will it be old Mavic 3 with C1 sticker? Again many questions and no answers, now those who recently bought the Mavic 3 (I did this in the summer) will feel cheated because they rushed to make a purchase, but I specifically waited about a year for this drone to be completed, since I already have experience in this matter. But now, they're making a new offer around Christmas to increase sales, and what will it be - the new car  is will much better than the base model, and I'll spended money thinking. But no, in order to print those damn stickers and take the pressure off their old customers, they want everyone to sell their old drones and buy new ones. I'm confused again.

Would DJI care to comment on this, as yet, unresolved issue. I recently updated my M3 to the latest firmware which appeared to include all the revisions to make the current M3 compatible with all the requirements for C1 marking and I assumed, as stated by DJI historically, that we would be issued with instructions from DJI on how to receive said stickers, is this still the case are we going to receive the stickers in the coming weeks as stated and described by DJI!

UPDATE
Yeah agreed so much more news.

Dji support emailed me with the following answer..

" The Mavic 3 V2.0 is related to the European certification, but not to North America, we will note that clearly after updating the user manual."

Whats interesting that they stated  in the user manual (V1.8)  about The Mavic 3 V.2.0 is specified with  Model No. / Number L2AA ( << New???) . i am curious how they will work it out with their stickers on the boxes and sticker on the arm.

I noticed that they not mentioned in the user manual (v1.8) some  : "New Future Facts" such as the dji Mavic 3 Cine V2.0 will also should have a Model no. / Number "whats it gonna be ? Model No. / Number: L2PP" << New????
because the base drone  DJI Mavic 3 have Model No. / Number:  L2A, the DJI Mavic 3 Classic has Model No. / Number: L2C and  the DJI mavic 3 CINE has model number: L2P

Hi guys. Thanks for this discussion. I was just about to buy a M3 (not classic) as I was assuming that after the M3classic launch DJI put the C1 "sticker" to all new delivered M3 series. As this seems to be not the case and the application of the certification via DJI website is still an unsure topic for me, I will wait and see whats happening. Or has anybody already got more infos about the process? Maybe someone bought a new M3 and the C1 classification is already on?

UPDATE
Yeah agreed so much more news.

Does this mean that Mavic 3 V.2.0 is the presence of C1 stickers on the same M3 or will it be a new drone with other changes? I am more and more coming to the conclusion that it is not necessary to flash my M3 to 9th firmware, it is quite possible to work in the A2 category. But I don’t want to spend money on M3C again, I already have a lot of drones. But I also don’t want to sell the old one and buy a new one because of the C1 sticker, especially since I bought it recently. I fly like an old pilot - manually and I don’t need these unnecessary bells and whistles, even a minimal loss of control over the drone can always be end with crash. Of course, for the amateur sector, the C1 sticker is important, but most likely it is beneficial for the company to sell more expensive drones, but as a pocket drone that is always with you, the Mini 3 Pro is also enough. They probably didn't get the sales they wanted for the M3 Cine and M3, which is why the whole story with the simplified version came up. I will probably buy M3T  to expand the services of my company.  Here are some ideas.

with the latest firmware .0900 Mavic 3s are C1 already even without the label. The label is for the eyes only and the procedure maybe will be online maybe with a live video showing the firmware installed and the serial number or by sending a screen capture of the about page in the DJI fly page and they will send by mail the label sticker so as to print it or by DHL. One more thing is that You may not need a beacon for a night fly because all the LEDs at the legs will blink green.

Judging by what one of the DJI specialists answered, while there is no sticker on the drone, it will be classified in category C1 and you need to wait until the stickers are distributed
