RTH Question/Issue:
I just received my MP3 today and own multiple DJI drones.  With that said, when activating RTH on my MP3 it wants to land about 15 feet from the recorded take-off spot.  No wind and plenty of satillites.  Any thoughts as to why?

oke,  inititate RTH close to home, than it will land at currrent position.
Also a message on the screen...

Strange...never had to be close to home on my Mavic(s) prior to initiating RTH and it being accurate.

The soft RTH icon mid left on the screen, it tapped far away : you see 2 new icons   land and RTH
if close home, you will see only one icon : Land

Also, the Mini 3 Pro does NOT have Precision Landing.

The drone has to be further away than some certain distance, as specified in the manual, for it to initiate a 'proper RTH'. If inside that distance it lands or perhaps asks to land.
As the RTH behaviour is quite complicated it would be a good idea to, read or reread, the RTH section in the manual.

Even if it has already been suggested - park your drone and RTFM about five times!!! It will save you much grief and money!!!

Thats no good when using a landing mat, there is no comparison to my P4P, I have never managed to land either the Mini 2 or Mini 3 Pro back onto its original take-off spot, always around 1ft to 5ft away, where the P4P would pretty much land on the H itself give or take a couple of cm.  I tried about 5 times with the Mini 2 and about 4 times with the Mini 3 Pro, so unless its a large area, its a manual land all the way and is normally hand caught.

Hi, Tviscomi. Thank you for reaching out. Consumer Drones have different RTH Logic. For the Mini 3 Pro, if Smart RTH is initiated, the aircraft will enter Straight Line RTH. Straight Line RTH Procedure:

1. The Home Point is recorded.
2. Smart RTH is triggered.
3. The aircraft brakes and hovers in place:
a. If the aircraft is farther than 50 m from the Home Point when RTH begins, the aircraft will adjust its orientation and ascend to the preset RTH altitude, then fly to the Home Point. If the current altitude is higher than the RTH altitude, the aircraft will fly to the Home Point at the current altitude.
b. If the aircraft is at a distance of 5 to 50 m from the Home Point when RTH begins, the aircraft will adjust its orientation and fly to the Home Point at the current altitude. If the current altitude is less than 2 m when RTH begins, the aircraft will ascend to 2 m and fly back to the Home Point.
c. The aircraft will land immediately if it is less than 5 m from the Home Point when RTH begins.
4. The aircraft will land and the motors stop after reaching the Home Point.
