A simple question.
The current A2 category (<2kg) and future C1 (<900gr) drones  are supposed not to be allowed to be flown over uninvolved persons. Does that mean that they cannot be flown over residential areas?
That is, I have an Air 2s. I have the drone pilot certificate. Can I fly this drone in my neighborhood above other houses according to the EU legislation?

No.
Unless you keep enough horizontal distance from buildings and people.

Yes you can. And exactly why I bought a Mini 2.
Only not over groups of people if I recall correctly.
But countries can add their own sauce to the legislation (at least right now). So it can vary a little between countries

Plus, it feels 'comforting' to know my drone is too light to cause severe damage if it decides to fly away and crash into something.

I used to have a Mavic Pro (original) but sold it before the new EU rules came into play
