I have been using my OA3 as a dash cam in my car and on my helmet on my motorcycle.
I shoot at various resolutions but usually 25 or 50fps with 1hr loop recording. At first it was working fine, cutting the clips up into 6 minute chunks.
Every now and again it would only play back the first 3-6 minutes of the clip before freezing. Tried playing back on my computer and the same issue at the same point in the clip.
Happens on every clip now.
Restored factory settings and that fixed it for a while. It keeps happening but you never know which clips will be corrupted or not, so not reliable as a dash camera.
3 hours of riding yesterday and only 12 minutes from 3 different clips are playable.
Tried opening them in DaVinci Resolve, won’t work.
It’s used with external power in the car, with a battery inside, or on battery power when on my helmet. Same problem. Not overheating either.
Must be a firmware issue.
Anyone else having this issue?
Is it being worked on to rectify it?

Ah yes, forgot to mention that.
Happened with two cards so far:
SanDisk Extreme Pro U3 V30 SDXC 256GB and the 128GB version.

Legit or fake cards bought from ebay/amazon etc?

I am not a fan of Sandisk, so use Lexar for mine

They’re legit; I don’t buy memory cards from Amazon.
I work in video production (not with the OA3), and won’t risk dodgy memory cards.
