Should I be able to download video directly from my Avata to my MacBook Pro via the USB C cable?

I have somewhat clumsy and large fingers and, because it is so tiny, I find it very awkward trying to get the SD card in and out of the slot in the Avatar behind the rotor...... I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be long before I mangle either the slot, the card, a rotor or all three.

The USB C cable is also a little awkward but by comparison I find it easier for me to navigate that in and out of its slot so am hoping that may be the easiest way forward, if it is at all possible.

I'm using the basic Apple iMovie software and with other hardware (cameras) I can often just hook up the USB C and the camera shows up on my memory/hardware list.

I had the same issue with the mini 3.   I cut a strip of an old credit card to

o insert and eject the card as my nails are not long enough.
