I am using the Mavic 3T for ecological surveys and I want to be able to set up a survey area of around 500mx500m then have the Mavic grid survey it, like with the mapping function.However, I want it to take video, instead of photos and cant seem to use the Mapping function for video, only photo.

Is there any way to easily do grid surveys with video, not photo?

Create a flight plan in KMZ format, import it into a waypoint mission, add what the camera should do. It should work.

Thanks! Do you mean like a polygon or can I create an actual flight plan? Previously I used GoogleEarth Pro and QGIS to make survey areas, what software would be best to make a KMZ flight plan?

UGCS is for me the best option. It exist other flight planner, pix4D, drone deploy...
Just make a test with trial version and buy what suits to you the most.
QGIS is also a good free alternative to generate flight path, which you can import as KMZ then waypoints and add camera action.
