Hello, do we know if the M30/T will get a C2 classification within a near future. This does have a big impact on the usage scenarios and the aircrafts utility.

C5-C6...I don't think so, as it 'd need a FTS and in the current offering DJI doesn't have one solution. So I think more probably C2 than C5 or C6...so stuck in Open unless you work on your PDRA/SORA.

Hi,
inside the current manual https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/ ... ual_V1.2_EN0223.pdf on page 120:

There is already written about an C2 certification inside the EU.

Hi,
inside the current manual https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/matrice-30-series/20230223UM/Matrice30_Series_User_Manual_V1.2_EN0223.pdf on page 120:

It's just the mass not to exceed so as not to void the C2.
But it is a sign that certification is in progress.

The information you are referring to is only the actual maximum take-off weight within the regulatory requirement for C2 certification. For the aircraft to be in compliance and also within the parameters for an actual certification there needs to be a process made available like that with Mavic 3 where you can request a C1 tag (in this case a C2 tag), mount it to the aircraft, take the required photos and submit them to DJI. After this you would officially be within compliance.

My question to DJI at this point is when can we expect this? The "intermediate" rules valid until 2023-12-31 allows a drone weighing >2kg and missing a C-classification to fly with a minimum distance of 150m (horizontal) to any residential, business, industrial or recreational building/area. This greatly reduces the utility of this drone since many professional tasks cannot be carried out in any city or town setting (I.e. Thermal leakage detection/mapping etc).

+1 on this. Hard to find use cases for this with the 150m restriction.

That's if you fly under the Open category...You can go under Specific ( STS, PDRA. or SORA )

I join the opinion of AR_AirPrecision, it is urgent to do the necessary in order to have a valid PDRA before 01/01/24, why not a LUC.
Rather than trusting DJI hoping to have a certification in time.

This information is a world first, at least on this forum.
Let's hope that's true and that it's not the ultimate trick of DJI and its dealers.

100% agree and I'll believe it when I see it. But, I bought mine around august last year from them so I don't think they have anything to gain from giving false information.

Confirmed by EASA but as far as I know no firmware update for M30 or M3E + the Cx certificate isn't available ( yet ) to place on the UAV.

EASA made a terrible mistake by posting this stuff without waiting for the manufacturers to implement it.

This is the state of the art of misleading information and its a shame for such aeronautical agency.  I'm thinking about writing to them about that, in order to understand why.

Remember it is only a random table on a random EASA webpage.  This does not in any way constitute a certification of the models mentioned.  As AR_Precision wrote, you need the firmware, and the stickers.

You can now apply (not sure from what date it appeared) for the C2 label after updating the firmware on the drone. You will get a notification or you can do it from under Support in DJI Pilot 2 app.

Finally! 20 day delivery time of the label.
