Is there a way to derive the GPS coordinates of an RC sailboat or somesuch you are tracking? Am interested not in only real-time, which would be nice, but in possible post-process methods too. I want to know how fast it was going, what direction, fun stuff like that.
Am using a Mini 3 Pro and each flight's .SRT file contains good data about the drone's coordinates during a flight plus some basic camera setting data but how could one use that to figure the coordinates of the subject being POI tracked?

Cheers

Hi there. We just received a confirmation from our related team. We can only get the aircraft's coordinates from the video subtitle or the SRT file, but not the subject. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We will help you forward your feedback to our related team for attention. Should you have further concerns, please reach back here at DJI Forum. Thank you, and have a nice day!

re: "We can only get the aircraft's coordinates from the video subtitle or the SRT file, but not the subject."

Yes, I can see that but would like to be able to derive the POI subject's coordinates.

Questions:
Since it would be a boat on a level surface, could I use any of that camera angle data, combined with the drone position and altitude?

Does DJI have a drone that can track a sail boat's speed and direction nicely?

re: "We can only get the aircraft's coordinates from the video subtitle or the SRT file, but not the subject."

Theoretically, it is possible to calculate the coordinates of the subject according to the angle and coordinates of the aircraft, but how to calculate this part of the problem needs to be studied and researched by the users. We are sorry that we cannot provide relevant technical support. Regarding the DJI Drones that can track sailboats, you may check the Mavic 3 Series; Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Cine, and Mavic 3 Classic. Compared to previous versions on other drones, this series uses ActiveTrack 5.0 which tracks subjects whether the aircraft is moving forward, backward, left, or right. Embedded with the newest subject recognition technology, ActiveTrack 5.0 uses multiple vision sensors simultaneously to recognize a subject, differentiate it from other objects, and lock the subject in the frame. DJI Mavic 3 Consumer Series can track in all directions and adjust tracking angles smoothly for more natural results. Thanks to the new environment and subject sensing algorithms, Mavic 3 responds earlier to subject movements and environment information and plans a more optimum tracking route to record smooth and stable footage. Please let us know if you need further assistance. Have a nice day.
