We had a discussion about drones able to fly both ways - with a controller and with a smartphone. As we know there are few old DJI models that were able to do exactly that..., but what about new ones ?!

Mavic Air、Mavic Pro、Spark
The latest models do not have this function.

I guessed. Sad In the old models, it was a good backup variant. Is there any plans for such a feature in any new models ?!

Not in the newer models. Phones are too unreliable to control drones via Wi-FI

I agree phones are unreliable, but it is something as a backup or for close shots, etc. Just say'n
