Hi Guys,

Has anyone been able to use Ulanzi J12 with OA3 successfully? The are YouTube videos about ULANZI UW MIC 20T working well, but I am after a cheaper deal.

If not the J12, are there any recommendations for a cheaper wireless lav mic that has 2 mic and receiver option?

Ulanzi J12 work well. I put gain +10-13 in OA3

Anyone try it with the DJI RC yet?

Thanks mate, I went past that video but it is a different make on Amazon. Was about to hit the buy button on Ulanzi so wanted to be specific…I think I have my answer from the next reply!!!

Ulsnazi J 12 usbc worked well with the Osmo action 3.
distance outdoor more than 20m.

intern camera  gain db +10
with 2mics it is mixed mono

The status LEDs are very small and outdoor hard to see

if you use the camera in the cage you need a USBc angle adapter


Microphones don't pair automatically when you take them out of the charging case. Just press the switch on the side and you're done

Have you received them yet to try? I'm interested to see if they work for you, I ordered a set & a few other things for my Osmo Action 2. I'm hoping they'll work with it as well, but couldn't find any info online.  I assume if they work for the OA3, they should for the OA2 as well, & possibly the Osmo Pocket, I've got one of those also.

Hi Mate, I can only talk about OA3. The Ulanzi J12 works like a dream and is a good bang for the buck as Ulanzi has some newer models and J12 is heavily discounted at the moment. I am very happy sticking to this as the sound quality is great. Without a dead cat the wind disturbance is still a factor but way better than not having an external mic system.

Thanks! My set shipped yesterday, I should receive them in a few days & will report back on if they work with the OA2 & original Osmo Pocket. I've got a Boya wireless system already with some spare dead cats that may work on them, it's a bit more of a hassle to setup with adapters, so I'm hoping this will make things easier. Thanks again!

Just received my kit today & tested with the OA2, it works flawlessly.  I put on an extra Dead Cat from a kit I bought (linked below) & it fit great & knocked down wind noise a lot. At +10db they really sound fantastic for the money.  Just wanted to share in case anybody else stumbles across your post like I did. Thanks for all the input guys.

AO3 continue recording.Smartphone stop recording.

you can plug or unplug the receiver during recording without the camera stopping. The smartphone turns off

charging  and recording works on the smartphone, not on the Osmo Action 3


hope Ulanzi make a receiver with intern accu ( upgrade the T20  with 3,5 mm mic connection )

wind is not a problem  at 1'26"  without noise reduction

Did a factory reset and still no joy

i updated action 3 firmware and everything, but it still crashes.

I use the Ulanzi J12 with Smartphone and Osmo Action 3 mountet on a Gimbal


both microphones work.  with a 52mm adapter, the microphone is not in the picture at 16:9
If you use an adapter with a larger diameter, you can also use the 4:3 format
