Pretty new RC controller is having difficulty connecting to any wifi network. I have tried the hotspot with my phone verifying the password is correct, multiple wifi networks on my home ubiquiti wifi network. With security on and off. I have tried 2.4 & 5ghz networks. I have also resetting the network settings, then just resetting the entire controller and its still not connecting to wifi. One more thing I have done is connect it to my drone and manually set  the connection to the drone to the 5.8ghz channel to make sure that nothing was interfering with the 2.4 channel. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out and we're sorry for the trouble. Can you please try to do a factory reset on your DJI RC and try again to see if the issue persists? After doing the factory reset, you may plug in your DJI RC via DJI Assistant 2 software on your computer and update/refresh the firmware. You may download the software at the link below. Please let us know if the issue persists. Thank you.

I have done that already. I tried updating to latest and downgrading to the earliest. With resetting to factory on both as well.

Just want to update the post here and say it's been a little over a week now and the "engineers" still do not have an answer to this.

Did you ever resolve this?  I was having no trouble with the google wifi, but with my new ubiquiti wifi setup, the RC pro is acting the way you describe.

Hello there. Sorry about the inconvenience. Were you able to connect to the Wi-Fi with the correct password but not getting an internet connection or is it the Wi-Fi network not accepting your password?

I am having the same issue. I am definitely using the correct WiFi password. I have tried all of the steps listed in this post. Frustrating because I need to connect to wifi in order to log in to my profile, since the app kicks me out every two weeks or so - which is beyond frustrating in and of itself.

Hello, there. We're sorry for the inconvenience. May I ask for the screen recording showing the operation? Furthermore, to ensure flight safety, the FlySafe Database will be updated from time to time, which requires users to connect to the Internet. Thus, a prompt for account login is displayed to remind users to connect to the network. As for the DJI Mimo app, if you don't connect to the network for one month, the DJI Fly App will be logged out automatically after one month, and re-login is required. Please feel free to keep us posted on the latest information.

Hi what's the steps to resolve this. I did all that is described in this thread too and the rc2 won't connect to my phone Hotspot on first setup. I can't test fly the drone for the first time. I had the mini2 before and it was easy to start flying.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. Please confirm if you are referring to the DJI RC 2 remote controller. What specific drone are you using with this controller? Try to use your home WiFi connection other than Hotspot to further isolate the issue. Please keep us posted.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick heads-up, as I've been facing the same issue for quite some time, then realised how silly I had been: the DJI RC controller works on Android OS. On the main menu (where you see the album tab, the profile tab, etc.), slide down your finger from the top of the screen. WiFi sometimes automatically disables - I guess to save power while outdoor - and the software does not let you know that. It simply tells you 'hey dude, check your WiFi network'. Silly thing, but I was an inch close to factory resetting the controller before thinking of this.

Hope this will help,
Jesse

Hi everyone,
I have exactly the same problem with my new DJI RC Pro. The controller is connected via WiFi to a Teltonika RUTX50 mobile router. It gets a valid IP configuration via DHCP, but the network connection to any device in the same local subnet and internet access do not work. The controller blocks all network traffic (incoming and outgoing). The same controller works fine on other WiFi networks. It is very frustrating and I cannot find the root cause of this.

How did you solve the problem?

Regards,
Markus

Hello everyone,

I found the root cause of the problem. The follwoing IPv4 subnet are reserved for remote controllers and drones and they should not be used on your WLAN network:

192.168.41.0/24
192.168.100.0/24
192.168.101.0/24
192.168.120.0/24
192.168.121.0/24
192.168.130.0/24
192.168.131.0/24
192.168.140.0/24
192.168.141.0/24

I was using one of them and therefore the remote controller was not working. Now I changed my subnet to another one and it is working as expected!

Markus

Hello.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my brand new RC2. I'm entering my correct password, but the RC2 won't connect to my wifi. I even tried using my phone as a hotspot to update the firmware, but it goes super slow and it eventually quits.

@mk112 suggested ipv4 subnet as a possible cause, but none of those addresses match mine. Anyone else found a solution?

So far, I'm not enjoying my DJI experience!

Hi there. Please make sure there is an available WiFi source around the controller, you can use a mobile phone or other mobile device to try to search for WiFi signals at the same location, and if your mobile device successfully detects multiple Wi-Fi networks in the same location but the controller remains unable to locate any, please proceed with the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Please change to a different WiFi network or mobile phone hotspot to see the controller can detect it.
2. Please back up the remote controller data and reset the controller, then restart it and try to connect again.

If the issue still persist, it is suggested to send in the device for a product inspection. You could visit the following link, https://repair.dji.com/, and create a case to send back for further processing. If you need assistance while submitting, you could also contact with our support service http://www.dji.com/support. Thanks.

I have a problem with connecting the controller to certain devices. I have tried using different phones to hotspot the controller but only certain phones work. A message appears saying that there is a conflict of IP addresses between the devices. How can i resolve this conflict in order to connect to the controller to the phone ?

Hi there,

As recommended in reply 2#, can you please try to do a factory reset on your DJI RC? Then, you may plug in your DJI RC via DJI Assistant 2 software on your computer and update/refresh the firmware.

Please let us know if the issue persists. Thank you.

Hi there,

Ensure that a WiFi source is available near the controller. Use a mobile phone or another mobile device to search for WiFi signals at the same location. If your mobile device detects multiple Wi-Fi networks but the controller cannot find any, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Please change to a different WiFi network or mobile phone hotspot to see the controller can detect it.
