Hello again, looked for an answer but so far not found one.  Took my first shots today using the J+Raw option, all the DNG files are just really low res,  what am I doing wrong please?  The jpg images are OK but I would like to know what I have done in error.  Cannot attach an image as it says in wrong format. Thanks.

You need to use a photo program that can display RAW files, I think your seeing the very low resolution photo that is displayed by a photo program that cannot display a full RAW file.

Check the RAW file size should over 20mb at least.

thanks, used the raw image extension but is just the same, the file just seems to be to small, properties show it as:

OK I get it now, using RawTherapee I can now see the whole image.

The 960 x 540 pixels are preview images.
If you open the image in Photoshop, Lightroom, etc, you can see the original resolution.
