I have been tweaking my HDR panorama workflow and made it quite efficient. It is still some post processing, but not too bad.

I'll watch in the morning when I'm more alert   I have the sound down on the laptop as Mrs.B is watching TV in the same room.  I'm sure there's something I can learn here

I'm wide awake this morning for a read-through of your tutorial.
I do have AutoPanoGiga already to work with, so that's a good start.
I notice that the three  composited images that you use to assemble the AEB final image, each show the digger at a different angle.
I intuit that the "Remove Ghosts"  command discards two and just leaves the central one.
Now i must have a go !

Yeah, remove ghost will try and take care of exactly that.
If you don't check that, it will end up making a blurry mess.
Somehow it got quite good at knowing this yellow thing moved around and should be taken from one exposure (the one that matches the desired output the best)

Now I need some footage to try out the editing technique.

I also use it on 'normal' (non panoramic) shots a lot.
It is some more work, but very much worth the effort (for me).
You can go crazy with this HDR merge tool, but also be quite realistic.
There are a quite a few options on the right side of the menu in Affinity Photo, but if you want, I think I can share some of my presets so you can import them.

I've only used it for 360 Panos so far. But now the Mini3Pro AND the M2Z do that in-camera I've used it less. This will be a new learning curve for me, so I'll take any help I can get

They did increase the price a bit, but still very cheap compared to Photoshop.

It's quite a deep program, but I mainly use it for this HDR merge too, which is quite good (and better than the one Photoshop has)

I usually just let Lightroom do its thing,  now that I know about the catch with the 3x3 pano on the mini 3 with its raws.

even the 3AEB gives you more headroom and color information to work with than the DNG.
At least, I got much better results out of the 3AEB shots than 1 DNG.

Very nice tutorial Peter.  I really like the work flow.
