Did buy this oa3 expekting to have usb c mic lav, in my hat, while fishing. Here we are not in a studio, sometime need to call out buddy like 50-100m away. in wind and waves, did not go well. Input just sucked using, boya k4 trs.
I do wanna use, trs, but need the gain at -12 db and still to hot, and somehow too low. Yes, did work, when, no wind, no shououts, and only me, crankink up audio in post.

Now, did use, apple usb c trrs jack, but damn that broke fast on me, so. Need to buy a lot then ? still audio was not crisp, it was urban muted, as they are made to be. Can be great for motorvlogging or other things. Still, better then too hot, and clickking, and scratching.

NOW, i stumble over, a youtube, motorvlogger, who just did say, one more wire, and it's fixed. So i did watch it. And instant did buy one from ali.
It was a Headphone jack trs volome controler. Some cheep plastic thing.
But i was already using trrs and trs into osmo, kind of working. So i waited.
Few week later, i had this plastic thing, looking cheep. As it is. So i did try it out. And yes, it did work.
So i did modify it some.
I did put it on max, turn it few mm back, still at high, then i taped it, so it stay there. And no water and dirt enters.

Now, we come to the best thing, you can now use oa3 gain as inteded. just was out in windy fishing. it was at +2 and waw. Something is just to good to be true, but is true.
$4 for this. SEACH= 3.5mm Jack AUX Male to Female Adapter Extension Cable Audio Stereo Cord with Volume Control Earphone Headphone. Where you buy stuff. i did use aliexpress.
So now, am happy,
I do not think osmo action 3 usb c is the problem. It's the lack of options for usb c mic input. It is the boya k4 there sucks.
So, join me, on the task, to find the best usb c input, if you have one, (WIRELESS) do not caunt.  Only this, easy on, and forget, as action cams are for.
I have wireless system too. Some time i drag it with me, but, naaa!
Just rendering latest video, with oa3 and extended lav mic. And am happy. Not a chick, scratch, wind blowout, gain +2 and can turn up sound, and no hiss.
All thanks, to this polish motorvlogger, and some realy cheep plastic.
I do belive there will come other usb c jack. Still waiting.


So, try it out. Low cost. Just fixade it, so you use gain control in pro.
