Screen recording to the rescue...

Lucky you had that backup.   Are they still working on that gas main?   It's easy to see the trench they cut across folks' gardens.

When you say "screen recording", I take it you are referring to the phone/tablet you are using to fly being recorded while in-flight (ie. you see the battery life, mode, height, etc.)? How do you turn that on, or, is it an app on the phone doing a recording of the screen? Like how it looks when you see the controls in the video.
