PS, I would personally leave all these effects out.
It can be a nice touch, but more often it looks kinda cheap.
Look at a TV documentary and count the number of effects they use

so judging by this video,, i definitely need a new video editor solution..
This is straight from my S8 Ultra's video editor with a tiny bit of touch ups..
This does not look this crisp when I migrate the file to my powerdirector..
hmmmm..

left that up long enough..

They just short fun whatever kinda reels
Experimenting with overlays, fades, and clips.
Taking a bit of boring and adding some flare and style..
All entertainment in mind..
Sort of building a quick "online portfolio" of examples of ideas and templates
a perspective client may wish to use if I even get in that situation.
Also it will serve as the beginning and progress of my further development.
I love the effects and if and when I ever get to film a TV documentary, I'll consult
with the director on how they wish to approach the mood ..

These transitions and effects usually make your footage look kinda 'hey I'm just starting out, look what I can do'.
Usually they don't make your footage look more interesting, but they kinda distract.

I would personally try to focus on 'how' you film something.
And use movement to create more interesting footage.
I have been experimenting with some multi directional movements and they work quite well.

yes very much so actually.

here a map of about where the shot of the tracks were and
the big red circle is our "train yard/station"..
I will get around to filming it seriously after I get permission and
survey the yard a few times.

I double checked this video and it's not Ed's, as wasn't pointing in that direction what so ever.
We have actually quite a ton of quarries and concrete' mix sites around come to think of it.
I have to keep this in mind ;)

The first one is of a bird I caught by accident when i  first "beamed in" lolZ,  but how rare is that!?!

Both lines commuter and freight so will have to watch for this for sure yes..
I'm reposting this pic as I noticed that the location in which I was referring to where the track shot was taken was way off and i couldn't figure out to re edit the pic part so yeah.. All good ..





the "Linton" area is quite and interesting part of town lolZ..
our other warehouse is on that block so yeah,, I'm sure I'll get some crazy stuff on cam this summer

wish i had  found the doe with her fawn  i was looking for in those bits and pieces ..
my coordinator txted me from the office to tell me there is a doe with her fawn
across the street so get my drone out to film them..
But by time I finished loading my truck they left ..
sorry ..
But yes,,,
folders are empty now..
Gotta get out and get them loaded up again ;)

Wow, that was really fast getting through your archival footage.  No doubt time to get out and start getting some more footage for editing.

I had a good day today for sure.  I went to pick up some groceries and on the way out of the store I bought two lottery scratch off tickets.  One was an instant loser but the second one was a $100 winner.  That should buy a few steaks and some more beer.

I didn't have a ton of it no and always kept up with editing and reviewing it all.
Going through test phases to get to know the best settings for filming, etc.
Pretty much got it all figured out  now.
Now just have to get a mac and better editing software.
Think I'm going to start using DaVinci Resolve 18.
I already have it on my 17R3 and will experiment with it to get to know it and by the time
I get a mac book Pro, I should have it all figured out like I do with the cruddy powerdirector
I've been using.. It's a good app, but it doesn't give footage any justice..
My horrible looking vids has nothing to do with the camera settings on the drone.
It's the editing software.. Anyway,, yeah,,, all good ..
Week so far has been ok.. Tomorrow and Friday I'll be screaming my head off lmao..
I don't play the lottery. If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all so ha ha to me..
Nice you won 100 bucks.

it ok cus I learned how to use it to my advantage ;) hee hee
It's ok about the bank balance because I've kinda been saving  for a new hobby anyway so it ok..
But still gtta budget and make sure that it's worth it.. I do have retirement plans as well and this
all may come in handy down the road to bring in some extra income and having fun at the same
time so imo it's all worth it..
Worst comes to worst,, I can just sell it all and make a little back..

You seem to have a nice future vision for yourself.    My first 3 months of retirement was hard as I was used to getting up early, and I mean early and putting in long days.  Took a while to slow down and get used to retirement.  I think I have it finally figured out.  I still do some volunteer work tutor students as it is rewarding.

Hope your day goes by quickly and that you have a wonderful weekend.
