I was wondering that also.  Seems like this update is lagging quite a bit behind when the Fly App update was released.  Nice that I can update the RC Pro upon a new App release but I think DJI can do much, much better in updating the RC quicker.,

RC Pro got a proper firmware update a couple of days ago too.

I contacted DJI Support and they indicate that at the present time the Air 3 can only be flown by using the RC2 or RC N2 controllers.  Hopefully, that doesn't mean the RC Pro will not be compatible with future DJI drones.

The new O4 uses a new radio frequency of 5.1ghz so it may be that it wont be compatible unless they make the Air3 fall back to O3 a bit like they did with the Air2S.

I've got a bad feeling that since the RC sold so well and now the updated RC2 has just been released that the RC Pro may soon no longer be offered.  I'm just glad that the RC2 has external antennas vice internal.

Only time will tell.  Just seems awful early to abandon the RC Pro's use with future DJI Drone releases.  Don't think the pilots that just bought the Mavic 3 Pro with RC Pro combo will be too happy about it either.

Same thing happened with the Smart Controller and the Air2S combo.

You're exactly right.  

I still remember when I bought the Air 2 and within months the Air 2S was released.  Guessing that might happen to the Air 3 as well.

5.1ghz isn’t showing up in the RC 2 transmission options here is the US. It may be for Europe only.

Im not sure if I can see an Air 3 Classic,  an Air 3 Cine and an Air3 Pro.   Actually maybe I could see a Pro on the cards.

I think that heavily depends on your countries drone rules.   Here the Air3 and Mavic 3 Pro are too heavy and have to be kept 50-150m away from everything depending on which license you have.

Hi there.

I got a question. Since I updated the firmware, my remote has problems to connect to the wifi. (TP LINK AX73 and or AVM Fritzbo7590) The Problem is that the RC2 has random MAC adresses. How can I switch that of? Only if it takes the first used MAC adress when I installed it, it works.
Else it connects but does not get a DNS Server or Gateway.
So not able to get to the internet.
Any advice?

Any news when this is coming to the DJI RC controller,  it's missed a few of the updates now.

after the latest firmware update, it appears that the additional drone led bottom light is no longer selectable for the C1/C2 buttons and neither anywhere else (if I am not doing something wrong).
Anyway, the Air 3 is superb!

This is correct,  it's enforced by EU law that the bottom LED cannot be triggered remotely.

When the light levels are low it will come on during take off and landing.

So that means that the satellite overlay on the DJI RC2 is as poor as the DJI RC?
According to MapTiler they currently have no maps of Google earth/maps quality for Australia. This controller is a waste of money.
