I recently purchased a mavic 2 enteprise advanced, actually two of them off of ebay. They are on their way here currently, but they were advertised as "account locked", is this a possability? I was unaware of the mavic 2 series drones allowing ANY form of account locking, and when I purchased them I did so on the assumption the seller mis-labled it and had done something wrong with the drones. They WERE lost in shipping and were from a shipping collection company, so the original buyer already claimed the drones as lost apparently, but I was under the impression that only the newer drones even had the capacity to be locked, and that these should still in theory be 100% usable

Any advice or insight? I've been messaging the seller for more information but they really don't know/have any.

I paid quite a bit for these drones, although likely will break even selling them for parts, just may take 1000 years and I really wanted a thermal drone for my job as a security specialist. Currently we don't have any thermal imaging and our cameras are in poor locations so the drone would be amazing.

Any insight would be great. Thank you.

If it's advertised as lock to account and you still buy it. You buy it at your own risk. Dji will always recommend buying from an dji authorized seller. I believe the seller meant lock account as its bind to another user. You can still fly it, but you can not unlock geo zone because you won't be able to sign into the original account. Also if the original owner file it as stolen, you will be fk lol. Your choice. Is it really worth saving a few bucks buying a lock drone instead of spending a few more bucks and no go through the headache. Only you can answer that, it's your money.

See thats what I was assuming, but the mavic 2 seires drones can NOT be bound, as far as Im aware, it isnt an option. So i'm not 100% sure what they meant.

The price different is enough to where Im going to take the risk as im paying a fair price for the drone, even for parts. the mavic 2 enterprise advanced camera+gimbal is worth like 1750 on its own, likely 1500 if I sell it cheaper, which after fees is about what im paying, so HOPEFULLY I either break even or get a working ( or 2) drones

Perhaps drones that were stolen or lost prior to being sold by a retailer, which have been reported to DJI as stolen or lost in transit from a retailer etc., and for which DJI are preventing activation?

Technically, drones that use the Dji Go4 app cannot be locked unless a claim was made via Dji Care for lost, damaged or flyaway claim then Dji can lock the drone on their servers when it connects to an app that has internet connection. You could possibly still fly the drone but will need to try with your phone in flight mode and no internet at all, this will cause the drone to not connect to Dji servers via the GO4 app and make it usable BUT this is only my theory.

Hi, I bought few mini 3 pro and one mini 2 on ebay which were damaged by previous owners trying to repair them even they were in warranty. After repairing of these drones I have found out that they are still locked on previous owners. Can you help me with that? I would be happy if I could use them and not just throw them to rubbish.

Mini 3 Pro1: 1581F4XFC226K0077QTL (working drone)
Mini 3 Pro2: 1581F4XFC225U006625Z (previous owner tried to repair it, some passive parts torn from board (capacitors and u.Fl) on board, few cables damaged)
If you will be able to help me I will also provide you SN of that mini 2.

Can’t be undone forcibly, you have to have the original owner do it.

Hello there. Upon checking the serial number, there is no corresponding device information found with it. Please check whether the serial number is correct. Also, we suggest contacting the previous customer to unbind from their end by logging in to the DJI Fly app with their bound account for you to bind it to yours. Have a nice day.

You need to contact the seller and ask them to log in to the DJI Fly app and unbind the account. After the account has been successfully unbound, you can then log in using your account.
