I have just unpacked and started using my brand new DJI Mavic 3 Classic (DJI RC). I'm based outside Paris, France in a rural community.

On the French DJI Website, the range is advertised as being up to 15Kms (https://store.dji.com/fr/product/dji-mavic-3-classic?vid=125121)

I realize that this is a theoretical limit, probably in idea situation, but I'm very disappointed by the actual result. I'm barely able to reach 1KM. I was flying the drone at 50m to be well above the trees, and when I reach 800m the Video transmission becomes choppy, and by 1 or 1.1km I'm loosing the connection triggering a RTH mode.


The gap between the actual range (1KM in my case) and the advertised range 15KM is so big. I was expecting at least 4 to 6 kms.

Interested in other people's feedback, how far are you able to fly before losing the connection with your drone?

As far as the VLOS rule allow to go.

If there are obstacles like trees it's normal to have reduced range. 15km is under optimal conditions. BTw CE = 8km.
