With my Samsung phone if I am shooting a video I can press the shutter button and take a photo without stopping or interrupting the video. Very handy.
This would be a great feature with the drone, instead of having to stop video, switch mode to shoot a picture.

Very few cameras are capable of shooting a still while recording video.
Your phone is most likely saving a video frame rather than shooting a still.
You can extract frames from any video you shoot.
But video frames are never as good as dedicated stills.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. The DJI Mini 3 Pro does not support the PIV (Photo in Video) or shooting photos while recording a video. However, I will take this feedback of yours and coordinate it with our relevant team for attention. Thank you for your valued support.

This is usually not possible for physical reasons especially when the shutter speed approaches the frame rate. All such implementations are simply recording one of the video frames as if it were a photo.

DJI should see How Autlel Robotics does this, I have 6 DJI drones, but almost always take my EVO Autel for this reason. It is a real shame.

Look carefully, your photo is just one frame from the video, you can always get it in the editor. This is not a full photo.

Yeah this seems like a no-brainer, no idea why they don't implement this.  My 200 dollar no frills Vivitar camera drone can do both at the same time.

You're right .. it's a no brainer.
People who imagine their drone could take proper stills while shooting video aren't using their brains.
Your cheapo drone is saving a video frame and you think that's the same as a proper still.
You can save any number of screen shots from your DJI videos too and get the same poor quality stills as you do with the cheapo drone.

But like most cameras, your DJI drone cameras are technically unable to simultaneously record still images while shooting video.

It seems simple, for those who haven't even read other comments explaining how other drones do it)
No one takes photos and videos at the same time.
